Theatre Gymnasium

The theatre gymnasium is built in the 2nd century A.D and situated at the eastern end of the Arcadiane Sightseeing in Ephesus - Ephesus Theatre Gymnasium, Ephesus Tour, Ephesus Reviews, Ephesus Tour Reservation Street. It is one of the Ephesian bath-gymnasium building. The form of its palaestra (exercise place) with a tribune shows that it had a specific function. The bathing section has been partially excavated and now it is inaccessible.

The palaestra was a 30 x 70m., it was an open field surrounded from three sides with covered columns. From the excavations we understood that a bath, a large meeting room and some classes were part of this important sports complex.
There were also lobbies, warm bathing pools, frigidarium, recreation rooms and halls for training.
